This exceptional natural site, designed for walking, is accessible to all. The remarkable transparency of its waters means that you can see an accumulation of trees and plants at the bottom, while the presence of blue algae gives the lake its magnificent emerald green colour.<\/p>\n<p>At an altitude of 1,200 metres, the lake offers a splendid view of the Mont Blanc massif, an ideal setting for nature lovers.<\/p>\n<p>Access and restrictions<br \/>Access to Lac Vert is forbidden to vehicles from 01 June to 30 September and throughout the winter season. Outside these periods, access is restricted to the owners of the property and their assignees. In summer, the lake can be circumnavigated in 15 minutes. You can admire the transparency of the water, which reveals trees and plants at the bottom, enhanced by delicate blue algae. This phenomenon gives the lake its magnificent emerald green colour. Mont Blanc is sometimes reflected in the water, adding a majestic touch to the landscape.<\/p>\n<p>To return, leave the Lac Vert restaurant car park and climb up to the Ch\u00e2telet d&#8217;Ay\u00e8res refuge, then follow the path above the lake back to Plaine-Joux.<\/p>\n<p>Swimming in mountain lakes is prohibited in order to preserve their fragile ecosystem. The introduction of products such as sun cream or buoys can disturb the natural balance of the lake.
